Ramadan and Eid: planning your Gulf buying calendar
In the Gulf, the buying calendar bends around Ramadan and Eid. Importers who plan a month earlier than they would for a Western season avoid the two problems that sink a season: missed window and rushed certification.
1. The calendar shifts every year
Ramadan moves earlier by roughly 10-11 days each Gregorian year, so "Eid season" lands in a different month annually. Build your plan from the lunar date, not a fixed calendar month.
2. The order window: November-December
For stock to land before the season, place Gulf seasonal orders in November to December. That gives production and shipping room, and leaves buffer for certification and any revision.
3. Lead time is the constraint
Bulk production runs 15–25 days after deposit, with sampling on top. Ramadan demand spikes mean carriers and certifiers get busy too - a slipped date at either end pushes you past the window.
4. Deposit timing
Lead time starts from deposit, not from sample approval, so confirming the deposit early is what actually protects your season. We flex deposit timing where we can to help buyers hit the window.
5. Plan the repeat, not just the first order
Eid sells fast; bestsellers run out mid-season. Identify your hero styles early so a quick repeat is possible without re-development.
